First off! If you haven’t had some good fresh made Greek and Jewish dishes, then this is your opportunity. Plus, this place is a real mom-and-pop business. On my first visit, I had the chance to meet the owner’s mother, and it’s nothing like when your mom is proud of the family business. Sometimes I feel you lose that connection with some of the businesses today. As it becomes more and more difficult for small businesses to grow, with challenges ranging from staffing shortages, technological advances, to the world of social media that changes faster than a lunch special. The fight to keep a business open is real.
From my first visit, the customer service was great, accompanied by smiles while being handed a huge slice of Strawberry Cheesecake straight from the world-famous New York restaurant, Junior’s. I’m happy to report that my return to the restaurant was in less than 72 hours to try some of my favorite dishes they serve. This list consisted of a piled-high 3-inch Reuben Sandwich, Beer Battered Onion Rings, a fresh Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken, along with some owner recommendations. The first being a dish I never had but heard of for most of my life - Matzo Ball Soup! Then, finishing the food feast with a slice of Baklava Topped Cheesecake! WHAT? YES! A Baklava Topped Cheesecake!
Here are my food reflections on the dishes that I had at The Bagel Baker Delicatessen:
Junior’s Strawberry CheesecakeIncludes: A full slice of Junior’s Cheesecake with fresh strawberry topping. My Review: Seriously, this is some of the best cheesecake you can have and it’s great not having to travel all the way to New York to get a slice. Finally!

The Reuben Sandwich Includes: Grilled rye bread with sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese, and homemade Russian dressing, and a half-sour pickle. My Review: The sandwich was moist with a good texture and was complete with the deli mustard. The fresh made pickles were a tasty accent. Why? BECAUSE SOMEONE actually made them. They’re not as sour as the store-bought product and I really appreciate the attention to food detail on this.
Sam's Greek Salad
Includes: Mixed greens, grilled chicken breast, cucumbers, tomatoes, and Kalamata olives, topped with feta cheese. Served with Greek dressing on the side.
My Review: The salad was actually better than expected! I know it’s odd. You would think everyone does salad the same way. No! Do not believe this. It was really fresh ingredients and I loved the dressing.

Onion Rings
Includes: Fresh cut onion rings fried in beer batter.
My Review: If you like onion rings then you will love these. A hot and crispy onion ring with a flavorful beet batter coating which is the best.

Mom's Matzo Ball Soup
Includes: A fresh chicken soup filled with delicious dumplings made out of matzo meal.
My Review: This place will be forever in my memories as the first place to serve me this extremely famous soup! The dumplings were very tender and paired well with the rich chicken broth. This is a meal you can have and remember childhood.

Baklava Topped Cheesecake
Includes: A slice of Junior’s Cheesecake topped with pieces of Baklava with a chocolate sauce drizzle.
My Review: This will add some pounds to your waistline and you will be coming back for more! The smooth cheesecake with the savory notes of the Baklava close out the meal and almost had me ordering another slice.
Overall, with the customer service, family spirit with a collection of delicious made favorites, I will definitely be returning. So, save me a seat! Well done.
If you haven’t experienced this restaurant, I definitely recommend you give them a try!
